Visiting the Example in Barcelona

Visiting the Example in Barcelona

As you all know, summer is fast approaching, so everybody is now looking for the perfect holiday destination. If you are one of those who are facing a lot of problems in choosing a perfect holiday destination, I can help you by recommending a beautiful country: Spain. I don’t know whether you have already visited Spain, but if you haven’t, then you should do it because it is one of those countries that is on the ‘’must see’ list. Spain is not only one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but it is also one of the most visited ones due to its diversity. It has spectacular landscapes, picturesque, small, traditional villages, big and modern cities and a wide range of entertainment possibilities that guarantee you the memorable holiday of which you have always dreamt.

Now, if I have persuaded you into choosing Spain for your next holiday, then I would like to recommend a precise destination: Barcelona. Barcelona is not the capital of the country, but it often receives more visitors than Madrid due to the fact that it is world renowned as being the city that hosts the works of the great Antoni Gaudi. Everyone wants to see the architectural genius of the famous modernist, so the city receives millions of tourists every year.

The Eixample District

It is true that Barcelona attracts many tourists due to the architectural works of Gaudi, but these are not its only attractions. It has a very long sightseeing list and a top place on this list is occupied by the Eixample District. The district is a very modern one and a very beautiful one at the same time: its tree -lined avenues, the exquisite restaurants and the boulevards packed with shops create a unique atmosphere. The District is not as old as the city, as it was built in the 19th century, but it is one of those places in Barcelona where the modernist architecture is very well represented. The district hosts the Casa Mila and the Casa Batllo, both Gaudi’s works and dozens of other modernist buildings which were meant to pertain to the upper class families of Barcelona. One big attraction of the district is represented by the fact that from the Tetuan Square you only have to walk for about 10 minutes in order to visit the spectacular La Sagrada Familia. Enjoy!
