The Beaches of Mallorca

The Beaches of Mallorca

If the beach is your bag when you're heading off on holiday, you couldn't ask for a better destination than Mallorca. With well over two hundred glorious and extravagant beaches - of which a great volume are of the hot, white sand variety - you'll be spoilt for choice from the moment you land on this majestic and beautiful island.

Mallorca is an island off the coast of Spain recognised for being the largest of the bunch of islands that make up the cluster known as the Balearic Islands. It is home to the archipelago's capital city, Palma, as well as a vast and diverse landscape that encompasses everything, from magnificent mountains to long, flat plains. Because of this, Mallorca lends itself particularly well to being photographed, so if you love snapping shots of gorgeous views, whether you prefer the dynamic backdrop of dramatic mountains or the seemingly eternal calm of the seaside, don't forget your camera!

Thanks to its Mediterranean climate, Mallorca is ideal for a beach holiday no matter what time of year. Even in the winter, it's possible to catch a good few hours of sunshine every day - but if you're a true sun worshipper, the best time to come is during the summer, where temperatures can hit highs of around thirty degrees Celcius in August. With heat like that, even the locals can't resist hitting the beach whenever possible, and there's always something entertaining going on to keep you occupied whilst you bask in the sun.

Some of Mallorca's best beaches include the obvious choices, such as those found at Magaluf and to the east of Palma between Can Pastilla and Arenal. It won't take long for you to work out just why these are two of the most developed tourist spots on the island - with miles of white sand beaches, these two locations are a couple of the most lively holiday destinations. Other great beaches include Santa Ponca, where you'll find similarly beautiful sand and clear waters, and Peguera, which offers a tropical setting with its palm tree lining. For the slightly more adventurous, head to the east coast of the island for beaches packed with intriguing caves, such as the Arta Caves found at Cala Rajada, to name just one.

Tourism in Cuba: an unforgettable experience.

Tourism in Cuba: an unforgettable experience.

Sun, white sand beaches, salsa music all around? Well, yes, but fortunately, there is much more than that. Cuba is a paradox of experiences, where your senses collide with one another in an explosion of significant magnitude. Here is a place where you can truly find everything and anything, from the most demanding to the most basic and raw. It is up to the individual to discover what he seeks, but in the meantime, we can try to give you some insight and maybe make your decision a little bit easier.

For the Canadian traveler, Cuba must seem like another planet altogether. Things that you have taken for granted all your life will be nowhere in sight, and situations that you can
t even imagine appear as if by magic. Whether you are a single traveler or a family of 10, a young child or a elderly person, the wonders of this country will seduce you and will make want to come back again and again.

Here in Cuba, you will find all types of hotel accommodation, from the most luxurious 5 star resorts to the basic yet adequate "casa particular", private houses whose owners pay monthly fees to be able to rent rooms for tourists. These are better suited for single travelers spending a longer time since it will be much cheaper. On the other hand, for a nice family vacation, you have all types of hotels and fancy resorts, from the most luxurious city places to the very comfortable and family-oriented all inclusive beach resorts. These cater to the entire family, where children will be looked after and will be absolutely safe, with activities ranging anywhere from all types of water sports to dancing lessons. Here you find different restaurants, from traditional Cuban fare to the most demanding of international cuisine. Everyone will have something that they enjoy, so there will be no need to worry about what to eat.

Cuba is a very senior friendly society, and this transcends into its tourism industry. There will be activities for everyone in the family, like walks along beautiful paths with breathtaking views, leisurely strolls on the beach, in short, something for everyone to do, even for the most elderly of visitors. Also everything has been organized so that handicapped people can enjoy their holiday to the most of their
capabilities, and every effort is being made to improve on this most important part of our industry. Our country should be enjoyed equally by everyone, no matter how young or old they are, or no matter the handicap. We are truly doing our best in this respect.

Now let
s talk a bit about city tourism. Havana is a bustling city of around 2 million people, with blacks and whites and every race in between. Whether is music you are looking for, museums of every sorts, any other type of cultural manifestation or just simply relax watching the sunset on the Malecon ( the seaside avenue that goes from Old Havana to Miramar), here you will find it. From Jazz music to live Salsa bands, from Ballet performances to the most typical street conga, culture as a whole will leap at you from every corner. If you are an antiques enthusiast, you will fall in love with the fleet of old cars that line Havana streets, some being used as regular taxi cabs, a testament to Cuban ingenuity, because it
s truly a miracle to keep these cars rolling after more than fifty years on the road.

If you like the beach, there
s a beautiful white sand beach 30 minutes from downtown Havana, so you could actually have the best of two worlds, sun and sand one day, museums and tobacco factories the next. Havana is truly an amazing experience, and you will need at least a week to appreciate all it has to offer, and you will still be short on time.

But the best thing about Cuba is its people. Whether its the staff that will look after you at the resorts, or the people you will meet on the streets if you come to the city, the people is Cuba
s greatest jewel. Fun loving, open hearted, they will make you feel right at home, often inviting you into their own houses for a traditional dish of rice, beans and pork, and of course, the ever present Cuban rum.
Experiences like these is what makes a trip to Cuba unforgettable, a trip to be remembered for a long time.

But Cuba its not only Havana and the beaches. There are several in country places worth very much seeing. There is the beautiful Vi
ales Valley, a place with hills called "mogotes" found nowhere else in the world, with captivating caves and underwater rivers which can be visited and enjoyed. There is also Trinidad, a quaint little village preserved much as it was 300 years ago, with its sugarcane mills and history all around it. Further east you have Santiago de Cuba, cradle of the Cuban revolution, but also filled with every conceivable luxury expected by a foreign traveler.

If you decide to choose Cuba as the place you want to spend your holiday in, you should take into account the time of the year you want to travel. In the slow season, that is, from April to November, its absolutely too hot, so unless you want to bake in 30 degree weather and 90 percent humidity, you should choose the other season, that is, from November to March, when its still warm enough without the smoldering heat and stifling humidity.
In this case, you have to book well in advance, because people from all over the world choose Cuba as its winter paradise, especially Canadians. Everything from all-inclusive to city hotels, car rentals, anything that you want to have secured, should be reserved weeks in advance. This will ensure a happy and carefree holiday, without any problems related to shortages of anything. Reservation is the name of the game when you travel to Cuba, thus making it possible to enjoy your stay without any worries.

If you are a person who likes to drive through the countryside, there are several car rental agencies with many price ranges, from the smallest compact car to the biggest Mercedes or Audi. Roads are quite safe, something you will rapidly discover by the amount of people hitchhiking at the side of the road. That
s another of Cuba
s greatest assets, its safety. Like everywhere, you have your petty thieves, pickpockets and what not, and even these are rare. Serious crimes are almost unheard-of in the island, which makes it a haven for people who like to mingle with the locals. Of course, you have to be prudent, but as a rule, you can drive or walk through any Havana street at anytime of day or night and you will be absolutely safe.

In the Caribbean there might be more luxurious places To go, but as far as friendliness and safety are concerned, none can compare to Cuba, and all of this with rapidly increasing levels of service all around. As of now, we have one of the major hotel chains in the world with approximately 15 resorts in Cuba, with plans to keep increasing its capacities in the future. This is mostly due to the reasons stated before, which makes Cuba a unique vacation destination
, combining state of the art facilities with down to earth homeliness and safety, and every effort made to make this vacation the best time of your life, without distinction of age or physical ability. If you give it a chance, you will not be disappointed. This can truly be called an earthly paradise, but not only because of the beauty of the land, but also and probably more important, the beauty of its people.
We hope you come and share all of this with us. You will not forget it.

Visit the Hot Springs of Ourense

Visit the Hot Springs of Ourense

Northern Spain and Galicia particularly has long been an undiscovered jewel in the whole of the Spanish tourism industry and within that undiscovered jewel in particular we are going to take a look at Ourense.

Overall of all of the autonomous regions of Spain possibly Galicia is the most remote and this makes Ourense even more of an undiscovered treasure.

Traditionally, Galicia was seen as a poor agricultural region, whose economy did not lend itself to modernisation and yet as far as tourism is concerned it is this constant contact with the past that gives the region its appeal and charm.

The Galicians, whose origins are Celtic, are fiercely proud of their culture and language; it is what makes them unique (they feel) within modern day Spain.

It absorbed little in the way of outside influence being fiercely resistant to all forms of outside intervention (and we mean all forms of outside intervention), was never conquered by the Moors, and in the Middle Ages fell under the control of the kingdom of Asturias.

Thankfully slowly throughout the 20th century Galicia has begun to develop a way in which to manage the traditional lifestyles with a modern community to ensure that none of its rich history is lost and this is now starting to show very real and tangible benefits as far as the local tourism economy is concerned.

The less well known town of Ourense is the provincial capital of Galicia’s innermost province and can be known in this over the region on the main road leading eastward into the country from the port of Vigo.

According to popular tradition than name Ourense is derived from the Hot springs that can be found there and much loved by the Romans who called the town Aquae Urentes (warm waters).

The town retained its importance both politically and geographically down through the centuries in various guises leading to the fact that it is one of the four provincial capitals that make up the modern day region known as Galicia.

Again likely to one of the most striking visitor attractions within Ourense ease the cathedral. The building work on the Cathedral de San Martino was started in the 12th century and as a result most of its features are very traditional in a style that has been described as late Roman and Early Gothic. The interior of the cathedral is quite big and long and has been described as quite gloomy by a great many visitors.

Ourense is one of those towns that very much still follow the original roman architecture and design with regards to town planning and layout.

Other parts of Ourense that are worth taking note are the Praza de Magdalena which is just off the main square and is characterised by beautiful overhanging buildings and flowers. This square is dominated by yet another church as well as the cathedral and this time the church is the Iglesia de Santa Maria Madre which is an attractive church of Baroque design that is built on the site of an earlier 11th Century original.

South of the old town you will find the original hot springs which first attracted the Romans to settle the area. They still pump out water at a healthy 65 degrees so don’t keep your hands under the water for too long!

Mojacer

Mojacer

Mojacer is a popular tourist destination in Andalusia, south of Spain. Local inhabitants call it “Mojaqueros”. It is also the home of Fundación Valparaíso. It is an international artistic colony, which hosts different artists every year. However, tourists are attracted to this place due to its lovely Mediterranean beaches. Moreover, its coastline is part of the Costa de Almeria.

Tourist Attractions

Today Mojacer has nearly 6000 citizens. If you are coming from abroad, then the easiest way is to fly to the international airport in Alicante. From there you can take a taxi.

Mojacer is a true paradise. It is a really picturesque little Mediterranean town with charming white houses, which are “poured” all over the hill. The warm Mediterranean Sea, which washes its pristine sandy beaches, gives a special charm to it. You can enjoy strolling down its cobbled streets.

Since its climate is mild and the sea is warm, this is a perfect place for swimmers round the year. Due to this specific climate, there is no winter. When it is the coldest time, temperature rarely goes under 20 degrees. However, during that period the sea stays warmer than the air. Furthermore, during the summer, this place is not as hot as others on the coast.

Mojacer offers fun time for lovers of water sports and golfers. Near the center of the city is a wonderful golf course.

Food

Mojacer can offer you unusual dishes, which are actually the remains of Arabic influence in its history.
Here you can be served with some strange meals such as Gurullos, Pelotas, Gachas, Migas, Ajo and Frito Colorao pescado. However, there are lots of restaurants which serve excellent international food. The well known restaurants and bars are placed at Mojacer Playa.

Fiestas

Fiestas are an inevitable part of Spanish tradition. In Mojacer they celebrate Christen and Moslem in June, then San Augustin (the protector of the city), Romería de San Isidro in May, Bonfires of Saint John in June and at last Virgen del Rosarion (the female protector of the city) in October.
It is interesting that during Christen and Moslem fiesta, local people celebrate their Arabic origins. They dress up in strange clothes and imitate fights in the streets.

Alcazaba consists of three levels and each of it is "another story". At the first level is a garden with beautiful greenery, such as pomegranate and cactuses. "Heart" of the fortress is the second level, where the chapel of Ermita de San Juan is placed. It was a mosque which was turned into a church by Catholic monks. This level hosts many different places such as a palace, baths, parts for the servants and the remains of old water mills.

The third level is the best preserved because the monks added it later. Here you will see another "surprise"- a research center for endangered animals of the Sahara.

Moon region - the location for shooting films

This area is abandoned and it reminds us of the Moon surface. However, Italian directors chose it for their location for making spaghetti westerns in the mid 60’s. The city of Tabernas is the location where they filmed many of those films. Its infertile landscapes of canyons and rocky hills resemble those in the American Wild West. Many famous Italo-westerns such as "A Fistful of Dollars", "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," "The Magnificent Seven ", etc. were filmed here. Sceneries left after the recordings are the main tourist attractions. There are three theme parks: "Mini Hollywood", "Texas Hollywood" and "Western Leone". Here you can have fun in the only European desert zone with carriage rides, shows and a zoo.

National park

A national park Cabo de Gata (Spanish words for "cat-like cape”) is placed on the other side of Almeria. It is a UNESCO biosphere reserve. You should visit it, because it is the biggest terrestrial-maritime reserve in Europe. You will be a witness to fascinating landscapes, which are a mixture of infertile land, volcanic mountains and cliffs that descend steeply into the sea, sand dunes, lagoons and hidden sandy coves. This is a place where you will find lovers of cycling, water sports and birds. However, many tourists come here to see authentic Spanish fishing villages, historic ruins and flamingoes.

Fiesta

If you visit Almeria in August, you will be able to enjoy the Almeria Ferias. It is a fair which takes place during the last two weeks of that month. City streets become filled with music, concerts, Spanish singers, dancers, parades, processions and bull racing. This event is beautiful, and the whole city is decorated and transformed into a big party.

Naples – Italy's Quirky City

Naples – Italy's Quirky City

Naples is the capital of the Campania and of the province of Naples. The city is the third most populated municipality of Italy and is also the second metropolitan area, after Milan. When it was first founded by the Greeks in the 7th and 6th centuries BC, it was called Neapolis, which means new city.

The language official spoken in the city is Italian but most widely spoken language is a mixture Neapolitan. This is an Italian dialect but is sometimes considered separate and language and one that is not easy to understand. Although it doesn't have an official status it has a rich literacy tradition and thrives in other regions of the country such as Lazio and Abruzzo. Napolitan also has been influenced by the French and Spanish. So some words may be spoken in Spanish or French words and understood by the locals more so than the other parts of Italy

Some may find the conditions of many buildings and streets, and the rampant graffiti, off-putting. Others claim this is "the immense character and culture of Napoli... and even the dirt and grime has its own flavour...a Neapolitan recipe for reality, and great fun". Just do not expect the pristine conditions of many other major European cities. But not all parts of Naples is like that, you can find some of the best Villas in Italy in Naples, which are near to many attractions such as museums and churches.

Naples is known for its fine cuisine; I mean it is the place where pizza, ice-cream and Ragu comes from here the city has a long history of producing a variety of famous dishes and wines. You could says it's thanks to the influence from different civilisations which have ruled the city at various times in the past, such as the Greeks, Spanish and French. In Naples buying and eating food in the street dates back to Roman times, there are several shops and stalls that are still around and keep the essence of vintage Naples alive with its street food. Down there you can find pastacresciute (deep fried bread dough balls), scagliozzi (deep fried polenta slices) and sciurilli (deep fried male zucchini flowers), or deep fried aubergines.

You could say the spirit of football is deeply embedded thanks in part to SSC Napoli. Napoli is the club football team of Naples who play at the Stadio San Paolo, they play in the Serie A league in which they have won twice. They have also won the UEFA cup which was the premier European cup at the time. This is around the time when one of the best players in the history of football was playing for them Diego Maradona. The man was so influential and a cult figure for the team that his number has been retired. Football is deeply rooted in the city as you as well as you see it is play by professionals to the Scugnizzi (street children of Naples.) The City is known for producing top professional players, for example Fabio Cannavaro, who led Italy to the world cup final but who started out in Napoli.

Syria and Lebanon Holidays – For the Ultimate Spa Experience

Syria and Lebanon Holidays – For the Ultimate Spa Experience

When it comes to travelling, Syria and Lebanon holidays are all about adventure and mystery – but Syria is also a hot destination for those looking for the ultimate chill out experience.

The road to Damascus is famously a mythical, spiritual and religious path. As the oldest continually inhabited city in the world, the capital of Syria first settled in the 2nd millennium BC. It’s not surprising that Damascus is a treasure trove of culture, art and architecture that offers a unique glimpse into history. But as well as restoration of your cultural or spiritual soul, Syria is home to physical salvation too – namely the best baths in the world.

A recent travelogue in The Guardian by Kevin Rushby reveals that Syria is home to the perfect bathing experience – and we’re not talking about a gentle recline in sudsy water – but cleansing steam, vigorous scrubs, hard massages and a long relaxing wind down with a restorative cup of sweet tea. Syria is the latest hotspot for those in search of the true, authentic oriental culture. Unlike other Middle Eastern regions such as Istanbul, Syria has retained its character and traditions despite the charge of modern life. Along the famous Silk Road - where many a traveller has discovered the true meaning of adventure – are towns such as Aleppo, boasting some of the world’s most magnificent baths.

Citadels and bazaars offer more than just the baths – these spectacular pieces of architecture offer a world within a world. Rushby writes of one such place where you can buy fresh pomegranate juice, get measured for a new suit, buy coffee and spices, or have a haircut. Within the bazaar, the baths are homed in a vaulted hall with its towels and sarongs offering visitors the authentic spa experience – tapping into its 800 years of history. Rushby describes a series of domed rooms, benches and niches in the ancient building, although the tiles are modern, clean and white. First, bathers can sit in the steam room to begin. If you’re opting for the full works, a masseur will use scrubbers, sponges and a copper pot to douse you with warm water. You’ll be scrubbed and pummelled and doused with warm water before having your hair soaped, wrapped in towels and led to a booth and given tea or a tobacco pipe.

Rushby writes of the elation after the ultimate spa experience: “I lie in a booth, empty-headed, skinless and blissful. Slowly, very slowly, words and pictures begin to assemble themselves inside my mind into something resembling what is commonly called "thought". I dress and leave, walking at the speed of a zombie on tranquilisers. I drift around the souk...”
A day of cleansing can be followed by lamb kebab and local red wine, accompanied by Syrian folk song. For the ultimate bath and cleansing experience, there’s no matching the restorative powers of Syria.

Holidays in Colombo

Holidays in Colombo

Guys if you're thinking of spending your most memorable holiday in an isle of your dreams, come to Sri Lanka. Here's a guide to where you should visit for an experience of a lifetime.

Sri Lankan holidays which begin in Colombo are ideally placed to visit this cavern of riches, located just 150km east of the capital. Filled with statues and paintings relating to Buddha, Hindu Gods, and previous kings of Sri Lanka, this network of over 80 cave temples commands a trove of ancient treasures of international reputation. Inhabited by Sri Lankans since at least 700 BCE, meaning that they pre-date the arrival of Buddhism, visitors can observe the unfolding of modern human history through the artefacts displayed before them.

The crowd in the capital city Colombo presents a marvelous mix of ancient culture and modern beliefs. Places to see in Colombo are the old Victorian Lighthouse Clock Tower, Gordon Gardens, Jami-ul-Alfar, Hindu temples like the New and Old Kathiresan Kovils, St. Anthony Catholic Church and the bustling Pettah's bazaar.

From the rich cultural heritage of the island has emerged a diverse and eclectic ethnic community, yet the result is distinctly Sri Lanka. Holidays to the island are not just about relaxing on the beach - although the beaches are outstanding. And they aren't just about the culture - although the history is fascinating. Holidays in Sri Lanka are truly experiential - with the sum of everything you see and do; eat and drink; hear and feel; combining to form the perfect portrait of a memory of Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan Streets - probably the easiest way to search for shopping items. City streets are filled with sidewalk vendors selling the items similar to those that are sold in department stores and malls, only the prices outside are extremely more affordable. This is the most practical place to shop for everyone who is on a tight budget but still wants to enjoy shopping in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka holidays are an excellent way to explore the country's beauty, and scenic sights of the beautiful island. Most of the regions fall under the tropical zone and thus enjoy a pleasant climate with temperatures hovering around 27 degree C. A bright, sunny and warm is what a typical day in the country is like, with no off-season in particular. However, the monsoon months if avoided is best as it becomes very humid. The upper areas on the Sri Lanka map are cooler in comparison and temperatures get low as 16 degrees C.

A Freudian Tourist Attraction

A Freudian Tourist Attraction

The Freud Museum in Hampstead, London is significant for two reasons: as the one-time home of celebrated psychologist Sigmund Freud and is also as a reminder of the reason for his exile in England. Sigmund Freud was born in Austria to Jewish parents. During the anti-Semitic Nazi regime he was forced flee his native country and seek refuge in England. Having begun his career has a neurologist; Sigmund Freud soon became intrigued with the complexities of the human mind and its complex processes. Further studies into these areas helped him understand the nature of the human mind and his ground breaking research earned him the reputation of being the father of modern day psycho-analysis.

Freud came to England in the year 1938 and settled down in a quite suburb of London, the house that he bought remained in the family until the death of his daughter Ana Freud, who herself was a pioneer in child therapy in 1982. Following this tragedy the house was turned into a museum honoring the life and work of Sigmund Freud.

The architecture of the house dates back to the early 1920’s and appears in a distinctive Queen Anne style which is also referred to as the British Baroque style. The pride of place at the museum is taken by Freud’s therapists couch which bears huge symbolic relevance as he was noted for his deep analysis of the mental state of his patients. The house also contains numerous items of antique furniture that were accumulated by the family throughout the years.

Known as a lover of the arts, the museum also displays some of Sigmund Freud’s favorite paintings including a portrait of himself by Salvador Dali. Located in one of London’s intellectual suburbs the Sigmund Freud Museum is located within easy reach of London serviced apartments offered by St. Marks, near the financial district. London long stay apartments are a popular choice among many business travelers that visit the city.

Château de Brest - The Castle at the end of the world

The Château de Brest is the oldest monument in the town, it is located at the mouth of the river Penfeld which is in the centre of the road stead of Brest. The road stead of Brest is one of the largest road stead in the world. It is said that the site has over 1700 years worth of history right up to the present day its role was a military stronghold and a strategic location of the highest importance. This makes the Château de Brest the oldest castle in the world that is still in use, the structure of the castle has been continuously rebuilt over the past centuries in order to defend against land and sea attacks.

The castle was heavily damaged during the Second World War, during the siege of Brest in August – September 1944. The castle was restored in its traditional manner and is one ODF the major monuments of Brittany. When Brest was captured by the Germans on 19th June 1940, the fortress was over taken by troops, this lead to the Paradis serving as a prison. The Germans built underground works into the cliff which the castle could be accessed from.

After the Germans retreated following D-Day, Fortress Brest (as it was called) became one of the pockets of German resistance. In August 1944 the allied troops arrived to help Brest’s defensive wall. The castle was attacked again in September and the bridge pont National was destroyed the day after the attacks started. The Pont National was replaced by Pont de Recouvrance; this siege of the town lasted 43 days when finally fell to the allied forces. The scars of the damage still appear on the castle and the barracks which were built by the Nazis have been destroyed and will not be rebuilt.

Where it is located is considered the perfect location as it is well protected by a narrow road stead but can allow ships to turn and move, and forms a natural harbour. It is a small inland sea that is capable of receiving large fleets and offers a protected haven for ships. Since the castle was built on a rocky outcrop on a cliff it overlooks the sea and can control access to the lower reaches of the Elorn.

The castle is also home of collections from the Musée national de la Marine. Featuring ship models, sculptures, paintings and various things related to the development of prison, the military port, the naval constructions and maritime life of Brest. Initially some of the collections came from the Second World War but were transferred into the tours Paradis in 1958.

There are many places to stay nearby - you could find one of the many beautiful Gites in Brittany . Plenty are close by the Château de Brest, so you can avoid all the tourists and visit it when you feel like it.

A Blast at Busch Gardens

A Blast at Busch Gardens

Anheuser-Busch developed the Busch Gardens theme park back in the early seventies as part of the brewing company in the Williamsburg Virginia area. As a result of this redevelopment their grew out of this endeavor not only a Theme Park but a brewery , Water Park, a very large resort Kingsmill and a large upscale residential area and office park and eventually a water park.

A brewer in St Louis invested in the area after negations with the Rockefellers who were the mentor of the Colonial Williamsburg and a few of the Busch family. The water park was acquired by A_B sometime in the nineteen nineties and also added Sea World properties that were located in different states.

In an effort to balance out the economy they were also credited with helping out with the development of Greater Williamsburg, Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown along with other attractions.

They have this new thing at Busch Gardens call the Touch and Go that allows you to get into the park by inserting you seasonal pass and touching a scanner. This thing uses your finger prints to make calculations that are unique to you. I believe you have to give up your finger prints and after that it is a matter of touching the scanner. Great way for the government to get finger prints of everyone in the country don’t you think. By the way there is a well know bank that pulls the same kind of trickery to get you listed in the finger print bank.

Busch Gardens has been voted the clear winner of the Choice Awards, winning 9 out of 17 different categories by Theme Parks Magazine. While the European park as had three of the top ten roller coasters. They were also awarded for best live entertainment, cleanest park, best food, and best events. They also other amenities like picnic areas situated in each and every parking area as food is not allowed in the park. They have pet care which is provided in the England parking area because they do not allow pets in the park. They have a charge of 10 bucks a pet and all day 7 dollar fee for the pass members. It is the responsibility of the pet owner to bring food to their pets, but fresh water is provided by the attendants.

The park has a smoking policy and is committed to a safe environment. Now they know there are a lot of people that still enjoy smoking so they provided smoking stations through the entire park. They are all outside fasciitis and do not allow any smoking inside any buildings at all. Most of these sites are found next to the restroom areas.
Along with some of the other rules the do have an attire policy. Because it is a family oriented theme park they require you at Busch Gardens to wear appropriate clothing. Which is the usually clothes like shorts or some kind of rap if you are wearing a bathing suit. They will remove you from the park if you are running around half naked because of the children.
We did not go into to much of the parks details about all the adventures at Busch Gardens because it is an adventure you will want to discover on your own. Oh and all you vets out there don’t forget to ask for your discount you deserve it.

Visit Water Park USA in Williamsburg, Virginia

Visit Water Park USA in Williamsburg, Virginia

We spent five days at Busch Gardens and Water Country USA and had a wonderful time at both parks. We purchased our tickets off the internet for $69 dollars each and printed our tickets before leaving our home. Parking was $18.00 dollars every day you parked in their lot which I think is outrageous. So if you plan on leaving the park and coming back the same day you better keep you receipts as they will make you pay again if you don’t.

I did not really want to go to the water park while we were visiting Williamsburg but I soon changed my mind once we got there. I was truly impressed with this water park. You can get directions at all the crossing leading you to the assorted rides. The food is costly, but what do you expect when you eat out at these kind of places? You can buy a souvenir cup and get it refilled all day and you can even bring it back another day and they will still refill it. And get this we also discovered that some people brought them to Busch Gardens and the refilled them there as well, tell me if that’s not a deal.

If you want to get some of those water shoes I recommend getting them somewhere else besides water country. You can buy them at any sporting goods store for only 8 dollars compared to paying 14 dollars at the water park. They are really comfortable and feel really good on your feet. My wife did not want me to purchase them, but she said she was happy that I did as her feet were protected as she wondered around the park all day.

While I was at the store we also purchased a waterproof armband contraption that we could put our personal thing in like our driver’s license, some cash we had, paper tickets and our room key to our hotel. I put it around my neck where I could keep an eye on it and didn’t have to worry if it got wet or lost.

We did not ware our clothes there just our bathing suites and cover ups. Even though we brought quite a few things with us like our bag, towels, and most importantly our sun screen we left everything out in the open on our chairs because people did not seemed interested in anything but having a fun day at the water park.

The entire family had a blast at Water Country USA. We went in August and it was way too hot to do anything else in Williamsburg during the day. The wave pool was awesome and kept us entertained and cool as we relaxed in it all that day. Our children did the water slides and even the wait was not too long even though it was somewhat crowded that day. Once we acquired a place to put our things we stayed in the water just about the entire day
Even though I was somewhat uncomfortable leaving our things out where anyone could have taken them had I know that I could have rented a cabanas it would have been great that I wouldn’t have had to keep my eye on our things all day.
The food was really pricy there as we spent $18.00 for 2 hot dogs and a small bag of chips. I wish they would let us bring coolers in the water park. It would be a great place to have a picnic, but we just went out to the car and grabbed a sandwich and wet back in the park as we were parked fairly close

Everyone we seen there was having a wonderful time except for one couple who was complaining about a couple who brought food into the park when no one else was allowed to. They brought in loaf of bread and jar of peanut butter and jelly packets making sandwiches next to them while they had to eat a purchased lunch. To make it worse their kids were allergic to peanuts and they were afraid that their kids would wind up with some of it and have to go to the hospital. They really got upset when they told security about it and their reply was you don’t want us to interrupt their lunch do you? I guess their security team doesn’t take life threatening food allergies as being serious.

• Other than that I had one of the greatest vacations I have had in a long time and even though it cost a fortune I would like to thank Busch Gardens and Water Country UAS for a wonderful time at their parks.
